Authority is infrastructure. Someone has to own it.

Systems of record tell you what happened. They were never built to decide what is allowed. A database can store a warranty; it cannot enforce one.

Storing facts is not the same as holding authority. The record is necessary. It is not sufficient.

An agent can predict the right answer. It cannot grant itself the right to act. Prediction without permission is confident liability.

The smarter the agent, the more it needs an authority above it that it cannot argue with.

Bury the rules inside the model and every new model rewrites them. Lift authority out, and the agreement governs the agent — not the other way around.

The layer must outlive the tools that call it. Models turn over every few months. The authority they answer to cannot.

MSAs, SLAs, authority matrices, warranties: these already define what is permitted, by whom, at what price. They are simply written for humans, not machines.

Korrex does not replace them. It compiles them into policy a machine can execute — and a person can still read.

Not “probably fine.” Authorized, by a specific clause. Explainable, in plain terms, to the person it affects. Provable, against a record that cannot be edited after the fact.

Anything less is a guess wearing a uniform.

Trust is not a feeling. It is a history you cannot rewrite. Every decision writes a line; no line is ever erased. Disputes are settled by reading the record, not by re-litigating memory.

The record is the product.

Authority is worthless if it stops at the people who already have software. The one-van mechanic, the roadside tech, the tire guy with nothing but a phone — they have to be inside the system too, or the system has holes.

The agreement covers every supplier, not just the integrated slice.
